motivation, failure of communication and diversity. These issues can be only resolved by effective management of workforce diversity. The various themes centering on workplace diversity are impact of globalization on workplace diversity, culture as a variable, skills required to manage workplace diversity, communication issues related to workplace diversity, social networking, and workplace diversity as well as the role of leadership in an organization to bring about structural and strategic changes which help to manage workplace diversity. This essay will clarify these themes in an organizational context and provide recommendations for improving diversity in the workplace.
Managing workplace diversity at teamwellness center:
This paper aims to discuss the issue of management of workforce diversity at Teamwellness Centre. The organization has been facing problems of failure in communication, lack of motivation and other issues related to workplace diversity. The complexities of globalization involve economic, political, social, and cultural variables. The impact of the complexities of globalization on organizations are felt in different ways and on different aspects of business. Some aspects of globalization are beneficial for business and organizations whereas others are disadvantageous. The cultural variables of globalization include the employment of people with diverse cultural, social, and linguistic backgrounds. Thus, the main challenge before organizations functioning in a globalized business environment is in terms of management of workforce diversity (Hossain et al., 2020). Globalization implies the interconnectivity and interdependence of people and organizations from different parts of the world due to the integration of the global order due to various factors. The presence of employees from different backgrounds is the essence of workforce diversity and this is a major challenge for modern day organizations.
This is because workforce diversity introduces linguistic, global, and social barriers between employees across the organizational hierarchy as well as at the same level of organizational hierarchy. To manage such workplace diversity, organizations need to frame guidelines and polices which ensure that there are minimal
conflicts in the organization due to workforce diversity on one hand and problems in communication due to language barriers on the other. However, there are also some benefits of workplace diversity which can be enjoyed by organizations. These benefits are also related to the cultural variables. For example, employees from different cultures bring with them new and varying insights on management and other operations. These may enrich the functioning of an organization and its culture. However, this depends on the guidelines and policies which organizations formulate for managing workplace diversity.
