INTERNATIONAL FAMILY CUSTODY CASE IN BRISBANE, AUSTRALIA UNDER INVESTIGATION

INTERNATIONAL FAMILY CUSTODY CASE IN BRISBANE, AUSTRALIA UNDER INVESTIGATION

Commentary

Apparently according to the news below, a few newspapers and publications in Australia have been accused of breaking the law there by publishing the pics of young children and revealing the identities of those involved in an international custody battle. Apparently the mother is challenging the Court Orders to return the children to the father in Italy and this has sparked an international drama. Apparently the Family Law Act of Australia is very strict when it comes to children, but we at AXJ AUSTRALIA are well aware of the specific case of an Australian Father ( name withheld ) who has recently had his child abducted by the mother to Korea. There is presently an ongoing Federal Criminal Investigation into this case, since the President of a well known Biker's Club in Australia has been arrested for stalking.

Courier-Mail in hot water over custody case coverage

Federal Police have prepared a brief of evidence for prosecutors involving media coverage of an international family custody case in Brisbane last year.

The Courier-Mail newspaper and two other unnamed publications have been accused of breaching the Family Law Act by publishing photos of four young sisters whose mother had challenged orders to return them to their father in Italy.

Under the law, the identities of people involved in Family Court proceedings cannot be published.

An AFP spokesman says they have supplied evidence to the Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions. Prosecutors will decide whether anyone should face court over the alleged breaches.
