AXJ SPAIN CONSIDERS FILING COMPLAINTS AGAINST THE PARTIDO POPULAR ( P.P. ) FOR CORRUPTION

AXJ SPAIN CONSIDERS FILING COMPLAINTS AGAINST THE PARTIDO POPULAR ( P.P. ) FOR CORRUPTION

Madrid, Spain

19-01-2013

Apparently several hundred people protested outside the Popular Party's headquarters in central Madrid last Friday night, and were witness to how workers inside the offices removed personal objects and documentation in front of the protesters while they were blocked from approaching the building by a strong police presence.

The Partido Popular ( P.P. ) has Offices in the USA so the FBI can act against them: http://www.partidopopular.us/ . All it takes is a few Whistleblowers to get them involved:  http://www.sec.gov/whistleblower .

Arthur Anderson offices in Madrid were burned to the ground too while Gallardon ( present Minister of Justice ) was Mayor of Madrid.

The Windsor Tower (Spanish: Torre Windsor) was built in 1979 in the financial center of Madrid, Spain. This office building was 106 m high and had 32 floors of which 29 were above ground level and 3 below, thus ranking it as the eighth tallest building in Madrid (and 23rd in Spain). It was gutted by a huge fire on February 12, 2005, and partially collapsed; it has since been demolished.

Alberto Ruiz-Gallardón Jiménez (born December 11, 1958) is a Spanish [1]politician and former mayor of Madrid. A stalwart of the conservative People's Party (PP), he has previously been a leading figure in various local and national legislative bodies. In December 2011 Ruiz-Gallardón was appointed Minister of Justice in Mariano Rajoy's inaugural cabinet. In November 2012, he justified the Goverment's amnesty to four mambers of the Catalan police forces stating that "the right of pardon is power of the Goverment". The four policeman had previously been judged and found guilty of torturing a citizen, and sentenced to four years in prison each.

Apparently nobody in Spain believes the denials by the Deputy Prime Minister Soraya Saenz de Santamaria, or by the secretary general of the Popular Party, Maria Dolores de Cospeda, that Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy or other members of the conservative government received money from up to five secret Swiss bank accounts with millions of Euro in them.

THE NEW YORK TIMES WRITES:

Investigation Shows Spanish Ruling Party’s Ex-Treasurer Had $29 Million in Swiss Account:

Spain ruling party pressed over alleged corruption

HAROLD HECKLE | January 18, 2013 04:01 PM EST | AP Compare other versions »

MADRID — A former Spanish ruling party treasurer amassed (EURO) 22 million ($29 million) in Swiss bank accounts, a court said, prompting a barrage of questions Friday about whether senior officials may have been involved in alleged corruption before taking power in 2011.

Deputy Prime Minister Soraya Saenz de Santamaria denied knowing anything about the money or newspaper reports that ex-treasurer Luis Barcenas also gave Popular Party members large sums in under-the-table payments.

Barcenas' lawyer denied the money was illegally obtained or had any links to the party. Barcenas hasn't been charged with any crime.

Saenz declined to answer questions about whether Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy or other members of the conservative government may have received money.

She said she was a government spokeswoman and does not speak for party affairs.

The National Court said Thursday that an investigation into irregular payments by companies to party members in return for business contracts uncovered that Barcenas had five Swiss accounts.

Barcenas resigned as party treasurer in 2009, when the Popular Party was in opposition, and gave up his Senate seat in 2010, months after he was first named in the investigation.

"This plants unsettling doubts about Mariano Rajoy's management of the Popular Party," said opposition Socialist party leader Alfredo Perez Rubalcaba.

Separately, the secretary general of the Popular Party, Maria Dolores de Cospedal, denied "categorically" that the party had distributed "black cash bonuses" from the construction industry during her tenure and said she had no knowledge of such a thing having happened before.

De Cospedal said the party's accounts were clear and transparent, and that if anyone had made errors, it was up to each one to fix their own mess. "What goes around comes around," she said.

Alfonso Trallero, Barcenas' lawyer, tried to clear up the confusion by saying that his client had owned Swiss accounts since 1988, and although he did not know how much money his client had kept in Switzerland, he was sure all such funds were declared in 2012 and the corresponding taxes paid. "It's unfair to state that money is the Popular Party's, or linked to it, or illegal money, because it is not," Trallero said to Canal Cuatro television. He acknowledged that it was a mistake not having declared that money to tax authorities earlier. The lawyer said his client had also taken advantage of "a tax amnesty" to "regularize" roughly half of the money, something the Tax Office denied. Trallero then explained to radio station Cadena Ser that the regularization had been done using a partnership and not his client' name.

"How can Rajoy ask ordinary Spaniards to pay taxes when it appears his government is prepared to offer amnesties to his own ex-officials," Rubalcaba said.

Several hundred people gathered to protest outside the Popular Party's headquarters in central Madrid on Friday night, but were blocked from approaching the building by a strong police presence. Police, who lined the approach streets with 20 vans, said the impromptu protest was not authorized through the proper channels. Another similar protest took place in the northeastern port city of Barcelona. ___ Associated Press writer Ciaran Giles contributed to this report.

COULD IT BE THAT UDANGARIN WAS IN THE LOOP TOO?

Now AXJ is wondering about UDANGARIN?

Iñaki Urdangarín y Liebaert, Duke of Palma de Mallorca (born 15 January 1968), is a retired handball player. He is the husband of the Infanta Cristina, Duchess of Palma de Mallorca, the youngest daughter of King Juan Carlos and Queen Sofía of Spain.

Alleged corruption and money laundering scandal

In November 2011, the Duke Consort was accused of diverting public funds for his own profit through the Nóos institute in the 'Palma Arena' case.[2] Searches were conducted at the Nóos institute by the Spanish Anticorruption bureau.[3] The daily El País has released a suspicious budget document for one international event that was organized by the aforementioned institute which was managed by Urdangarín at that time.[4] It is believed that he persuaded various Spanish public administrations (mostly regional governments) to sign agreements with his company, the Nóos Institute (which was supposed to be a non-profit organization) for both works that were never done, and works that were dramatically overbudgeted up to €5,800,000 from public Administrations.[5]

In December 2011, the Anticorruption Bureau confirmed that the Duke had been sending important sums of public money to tax havens in Belize and the United Kingdom.

Also in December 2011, the Casa del Rey of Spain announced that it had decided that the Duke Consort of Palma was not going to participate in any official Royal Family activity for the foreseeable future, as a result of the Instituto Nóos scandal.[6] In the King's Christmas speech on 24 December 2011, King Juan Carlos stated that "La justicia es igual para todos" ("Justice is the same for everyone"), suggesting a strong reference to Urdangarin although the following day he backtracked to say he was speaking generally.[7]

On 6 February 2012, The Duke Consort of Palma de Mallorca had to appear before a judge over the allegations of corruption.[8] He is being investigated alongside 14 others, including Jaume Matas, former premier of the Balearics.[9][10] He appeared again on 25 February 2012 in Mallorca to answer questions before the investigating judge Jose Castro.
